Ventriloquist Figure Headcast

I just finished the mold and cast of my new ventriloquist figure character. This one turned out quite nice. I think this guy will be a great addition to my line up. I ended up changing the hair and making it a bit shorter and closer to the head, I like it better. Check out the pictures, hope you enjoy them. MontanaDan

  1. Im curious about how you cast your heads. Once youve completed the slush cast do you just pull the whole casting out the bottom of the mold?

  2. The Silicone Rubber Mold is encased in a Plaster Mother Mold. I pour the liquid plastic in through the opening in the neck and hand cast it. It is a one piece mold, and I usually do two layers. After it sets and dries, I just pull the entire rubber mold off the casted head. The Polyurithane Plastic does not stick to the silicone rubber. It comes off very easy. The plaster mother mold is a two piece made in halves, so it can be taken apart and put back together. I can use the mold over and over.
