I've been working for the last 4 days on my second Custom Figure. Mr. Elkhorn has been alot of fun to create. I used the same head cast as I used for Oscar Orangeblossom. It is amazing how much different they look. I used a pair of eyes I ordered from Mike Brose, and I painted this one with a darker shade of flesh tone and decided to add a beard. Hope you enjoy the picture. MontanaDan.

Oscar Orangeblossom

Introducing Oscar Orangeblossom. Well my new Custom Puppet is complete. I named him Oscar Orangeblossom, and he is quite a character! My wife said that she can't believe how real he looks. I told her he is real, your not dreaming! go ahead and touch him. LOL. Then he grinned at her. Dan

Oscar Orangeblossom is just about ready to dance! This has been a very rewarding project, and alot of fun!. I have another head cast which I am going to start on this week. I will keep you posted of my progress. I still have a few minor tweaks to finish on Oscar, and a couple of places to touch up, but Oscar is just about done. Dan

Well, I decided to make the eyes for my new dummy, and I used wooden balls and printed out the iris on the computer. After I painted them I just needed to glue on the iris. They look pretty nice actually. I still need to center and install them but here is a picture of what they look like in my new custom figure. What a Blast!

Everything is coming along really good so far with my Custom Figure Project. I painted the Head and Jaw tonight, and I ordered the body from Braylu. I should have the eyes by next week, and I am currently working on the mechanics and headstick. Stay Tuned!

I just finished up with the inside of the mouth for my Custom Figure. The jaw piece is looking really good, and fits well also. Next will be to prime and paint the head and jaw, and I am waiting for the eyes to arrive next week from Puppets and Props.
Blue or Green? Oh the choices! Dan

Well it took some doing but I got the eyes and Jaw cut out. I have already started on some of the Mechanics. The jaw was tricky because of the shape, but I got it to work ok. My Custom Figure is coming along quite nicely. I will keep you posted.

All in all it has been quite an experience. I made my silicone mold, and although it isn't pretty, it worked just fine. I then made a mothermold out of plaster wrap, and hand cast my head using easyflow 120. Below are some pictures of the process, and finished head.

Mike Brose of Puppets and Props is currently working on my new ventriloquist dummy. An OG Hargrove figure that I have named Luigi. Luigi Francisco MarCello is a "Fortune Teller". I have included a link so that you can check out the theme for this character. Take a peek into the future. Fortune Teller

The Shark Hunter

Here is a likeness of a Figure Dan Payes is working on for me. I call him Sharkey.
If you click on the link, it will take you to a webpage I have set up for this character. Lots of Fun! Shark Hunter

Here are two pictures of a sculpture I am working on. The first is the sculpture itself. The second is an enhanced picture I did in Paint Shop Pro, showing what it most likely will look like when I am finished. One can only hope. The end result is always a suprise! I still need to do some work on the ears.

I have been working alot lately getting things ready for my new Custom Ventriloquist Figure I am creating. I started with an original sculpture of an elf, and ended up with something totally different. Anyway, I have purchased some products from Smooth On, and Polytec to make a silicone mold and a casted head. Wish me luck. The pictures above are of a couple of original sculptures I have ready. I am hoping this Ventriloquist Dummy comes to life really soon.
I am waiting on two different Vent Figures that I have on Order. One is from Mike Brose at Puppets and Props, an OG Hargrove Figure, and the other is a Custom Puppet being created for me by Dan Payes. I will post some pictures when these two figures arrive. I can't wait!

Here are a few pictures of what I have been working on. I have several different ideas to try in creating headsticks and controls. So far everything seems pretty easy. I bought a couple of control sticks from Braylu.com, and then modified them with some brass rods and tubes. I created a headstick for my Mike Brose Fred Head using just one control rod for the eyes, and a standard lever and string for the mouth. It works quite nicely. He should be a very nice Ventriloquist Dummy
