KIRBY

This is Kirby, another Ventriloquist Figure that I created using one of the cast heads from the Kenny Croes Collection, available at Braylu Creations. This is the "Cheeky Boy" cast head. This is the second Puppet that I have finished using these Custom Cast Heads. Kenny Croes of Vent Into The Mike, and Buzz James of Braylu Creations, are really going all out with the creation and sale of these Fantastic Ventriloquist Dummy Cast Heads. Enjoy, MontanaDan

McMurphy

Here is the newest Character I have been working on. I made this little guy using a Cast Head from the Kenny Croes Collection, available at Braylu Creations. These heads are perfect for a size 2-T body, also available at Braylu. Kenny has created several heads available for purchase at Braylu Creations, and they are easy to work with. This is the Uncle Earl Head. As you can see, I made mine a tad bit younger then Kenny's version. I also purchased a Cheeky Boy Cast Head and hope to be working on him next weekend. Both of these heads have the jaw piece already constructed and seperate from the head. They also have an eye plate with an outline for the screw holes. Other then having to cut out the eyes and the skull cap, these cast heads are ready for use with just some minor sanding and installation of your controls. A little paint and some final touches, such as hair and eyebrows, and before you know it he is ready to talk! I named my guy McMurphy. Enjoy MontanaDan

Mike Brose "Puppets and Props"

For the past year I have been involved in the hobby of Ventriloquism. I have joined a few Vent Groups, and have created a Ventriloquist Blog of my own, and I have even started learning how to build my own figures.
Quite an adventure and undertaking to say the least.

I have received alot of information and help from various individuals in the profession and hobby of Ventriloquism, and I have learned a great deal from these contacts.

One that stands out among the many talented individuals as a Professional Figure Builder, and Author of "Figure Making Can Be Fun" is Mike Brose.

Puppets and Props is a small company owned by figure maker Mike Brose and his wife Cathy. There are occasions when Mike's hands are full of tools, wood, or resin, or his wife is out mailing packages, and you will get their answering machine. Please leave a message! They will return your call as soon as they can.

There's a variety of figure making info (and puppet making info too!) accessible from their web pages. Check out all the links. If you know of a good puppet making or figure making site, or other info that would be helpful, please let Mike know.

Professional Quality Finished Ventriloquist Figures, used figures, custom figures, free dummy building info, dummy parts, and books on making pro ventriloquist dummies. Ventriloquism links, and more! are all included on the Puppets and Props website.

I have ordered several figures and dummy parts from different on-line ventriloquist websites, some good and some not so good. On my blog I have listed numerous websites in this business and given my opinion on their products and services.

Today I want to share with the Vent community this article and information on Mike Brose and Puppets and Props.

For anyone interested in getting their hands on a Really Nice Ventriloquist Figure, you can't do better then to go with Puppets and Props.

I have included a few pictures that Mike took for me while he was working on my new OG Hargrove Figure "Luigi"

Throughout the ordering process, numerous questions that I had, and continual updates from Mike, on my figure, he was always very friendly, helpful and professional. Mike Brose is an Artist. He will not rush, and takes his craft very seriously. The Quality and Craftsmanship show in his work, and each figure that he creates is truly a remarkable tribute to his knowledge and talent, and to the Ventriloquist who will ultimately own one of his figures.

When my figure arrived, all I could say was WOW!!! My wife was amazed at the realism, and both of us were totally overwhelmed with every detail about the figure. The quality and smoothness of the controls, the placement of the control levers, the Fantastic realism of the eyes, and the blending of the blush and skin tones is Awesome!(NOTE: The eyes on my figure were Special Order, and with an additional cost involved)

I cannot say enough about how much I like this figure, but I will have to say just one more time a BIG THANK YOU to Mike Brose at Puppets and Props.

LUIGI

Luigi has arrived! Direct from Master Figure Maker Mike Brose "Puppets and Props"
My O.G. Hargrove figure has finally arrived home. Mike Brose finished him up this past week, and in my honest opinion did a fabulous job. Mike's attention to detail is amazing, and the paint job and highlights are truly eye catching. Mike is a perfectionist and will not compromise when it comes to his craftsmanship and art form. He is truly one of the best figure makers out there today. The controls are smooth and flawless! It is a joy to own such a high quality figure. Thank You Mike.

In the near future I will be doing an article on Mike Brose and Puppets and Props.
Stay tuned for details. MontanaDan

Luigi is getting ready to travel to his new destination.
He has been in seclusion and has been preparing for his arrival.
The time has come to get ready for what Luigi calls The Awakening!

Prepare Yourself.
